American Eagle ERJ's Coming To ISP

Wed Jul 10, 2002 5:00 am

Greetings:

No more Saab 340's at ISP for American Eagle. Starting Aug 1 all Eagle Flight's to Boston will be operated by the ERJ-135  Big thumbs up All I can say is, it's about time.

Thanx

I noticed that earlier today while shopping for flights for a September trip to Long Island! Agreed, that's great news. No more bus trips to and from the remote apron. And I love ERJ flights.

I hope American Eagle adds one or two other destinations from ISP besides BOS. Any idea whether that's a possibility?

MIA-ISP! I don't know if it is a possibility or not, but Miami-New York is the heaviest traveled corridor in the United States over 750 miles, and of all the possible airport combinations, MIA-ISP is the only one that does not exist. I see no reason why AA cannot make a daily 737-800 work. I know Islip is not the highest yielding airport, but Miami-Islip is big enought a market, IMO. Huge O&D numbers, and right now the only choices are weak: DLX to FLL or WN to FLL/PBI. It would be "streching" the limits, but an ERJ can do MIA-ISP.

Does American Eagle fly anywhere else from ISP besides BOS or is BOS the only destination from ISP?

It is so good to see ISP expanding with more jet service  Big thumbs up

MAH4546....You forgot Southwest ISP-MCO

This was all part of the news today that Eagle is going all-jet in BOS on August 1st. All the Saab's are going bye-bye. ISP, HPN, & Quebec City are all being converted to all-jet, the last of the Saab routes.

Now ORD, LGA, BOS, & RDU are all Eagle.

Dragon-wings, I'm pretty sure BOS was/is the only American Eagle route out of ISP.

AA should do service to MIA from ISP. It'd be great because there'd be very minimal or if any delays!

Dragon-wings, Orlando is not Miami/South Florida, though yes, WN flies ISP-MCO, as well as ISP-TPA/JAX.

Greetings:

I don't think we'll see ISP-MIA not with Sothwest's ISP-FLL and Delta Express ISP-FLL. FLL Really isn't that far away from MIA. However I would love to see transcon service from Southwest, why wouldn't ISP-LAX work? Their doing it out of BWI, yes the yields are higher but just think about the amount of people from the Island that travel into JFK for transcon flights. Hell I do it once every other month for biz. Personally I wouldn't mind the no frills service. The only thing United gives me is one very basic meal, some music and usually an hour to three hour delay on flight 863. I can easily bring my CD player and Mickey D's on Southwest.

Does AA still offer its MD-80 service to ORD from ISP?
If not, do you think Eagle would reinstate it with ERJs?

American Eagle ISP-MIA would make sense due to all of AA's Latin American and Carribean connections out of MIA. WN to FLL is no substitute.

Greetings:

No AA stopped their mainline service a few years back. I don't see the ERJ's picking it up, Southwest serves Midway from ISP AA pulled out when Southwest came in. I love AA as a carrier but their no match for Southwest at ISP and they would never waste the money and try to compete. Unlike Jetblue who AA is trying to crush at LGB, Southwest has very very very deep pockets and would put up a huge battle.

Thanx
