EasyJet To Fly To More €uropean Destinations

Thu Jul 11, 2002 7:35 pm

According to documents seen by a UK newspaper, EasyJet is planning more flights to and from Gatwick, Paris, Scotland, Switzerland and Southern France. New services to Toulouse, Alicante and Munich are also expected.

A draft schedule loged with the IATA in Montreal, Canada appears to have been leaked. "These schedules are a planning tool to give airports and other airlines an idea of what a carrier intends to fly. It's so people can do their own planning in terms of manning and resources," said Juan Catala, IATA's assistant director for scheduling.

Go, who Easyjet are taking over, already flies to Alicante. Services from Liverpool and LGW are expected to compliment those services.

EasyJet said the document was to "confuse competitors". The destinations ""might be an option" and confirmed that EZY was "looking into" landing slots at Alicante, Munich and Toulouse.

Possible new EZY routes:
LGW - MAD
LGW - MUN
LGW - ORY
LGW - Liverpool
LGW - Alicante
Liverpool - Alicante
Liverpool - ZRH
EDI - CDG
Glasgow - CDG
BEL - CDG
CDG - Toulouse
ORY - ZRH
Geneva - MAD

Good to hear about more flights from LGW. Its 50 mins from my desk to their check in desk at LGW, so more destinations for the weekend.

I suppose MUN=MUC, but what is BEL? Belgrade? Berlin (BER, a.k.a. SXF/THF/TXL)?

 Confused
