No they weren't. Basically used on the Tasman Sea routes, I recall they ventured up to Hong Kong and Singapore from time to time.

Somewhere I saw a seating chart for one of these. I recall that sleeper seats were used in the First Class accommodations. High living, even on a turboprop in 1961.

On the Jo'burg service (which I seemed to remember but didn't post as I wasn't sure), where were the stops? I presume Singapore, Colombo, Mauritius.

The Electras flew Perth-Cocos-Mauritius-JNB. They flew this until at least 1966; maybe Perth's 7500?-foot runway was too short for a 707 nonstop to MRU, and maybe Cocos' runway couldn't take a 707?
