Why Is There A GB Airways Flight Out Of Dubai?

Sun Jul 14, 2002 7:52 pm

The Flight below is leaving Dubai at 2200. Although its re scheduled I didnt know anything about GB Airways flying in and out of Dubai.

GTI8821-GB Airways-Hahn-2200-Rescheduled

I would have thought that if this was the GB Airways we all know that flies for BA, it would have been a British Airways flight with a BA flight number. Can anyone help me out with this?, Im quite confused. If it is not the GB Airways of the UK, what is another airline doing the same name?

Cheers

GTI is Atlas Air. Where GB Airways comes into this I don't know but either there is an error or this is a sub charter for GB Airways - perhaps to do with a UK MOD contract

Thanks, I thought it seemed really odd. However, an Atlas charter for GB would also be very odd.

Not really. GB Airways is an entity of itself and may be able to negotiate cheaper deals than another company for a particular contract but my guess is the GB Airways bit is an error.
