Malaysian Inflight

Mon Jul 15, 2002 11:31 am

Any one able to advise what sort of inflight entertainment is on Malaysian 747-400s.

Are they set up with individual screens or ones that everyone watches(generally with a big head in the road)

Search the Trip Report forum and do a manual search on Malaysia Airlines. This topic has been discussed to death.

Alternatively, wait for Ryanair!!! to see this thread, you can be assured of a looong reply on the many wonders of his favourite airline.

MH 747-400's have PTV's in all classes/seats.

Y gets you a seat back screen that looks like it's 6 inches across, with a fairly up to date movie selection.
C and F have humongous 10.4 inch touch screens that because of the design of the bracket holding up the screen means that it gets in the way and is quite intrusive especially during meal times. On some 747s C and F pax have what they call Select Plus, which is basically AVOD.

All this applies to their 777's too.

Yes - I am finally replying to this post, I have no time to look at my computer today...

AVOD is indeed being introduced on some flights. If you are flying the 744 from LHR, chances of getting AVOD in F and C is very high. 10.4' PTV in Business class is one of the largest you can find. There is library of music CDs to choose from as well. You can choose to listen to any tracks on the albums featured. The ones you find in Y Class are the standard ones, nothing to rave about.

Their selection is normally quite up to date so enjoy your flight!

Read my trip reports about this airline! Although my first few reports were posted by SQ772 so you might want to search for his name as well...

SQ 772 - happy?  Smile
