Ryanair Gets Beating From Its Pilots

Mon Jul 15, 2002 5:13 pm

Tomorrow 16 June the European Cockpit Association will present its findings of what it considers Ryanair employee abuses to Madame de Palacio, European Commissioner for Transport.

# Pilots have a list of complaints ranging from - no time for lunch - to drunks flying aircraft, drug abuse, labour contracts broken, etc, etc, etc,

ECA is demanding a full review of all low cost airlies operations in Europe.

Is this a hidden defense for the established airlines or not ??

These are not only a Ryanair and LCC's problems.
It's good that EU commission investigate about that, but I don't think this will be a defense for flag carriers.

Hi,

The report some of Ryanair pilots made about bad working conditions and thus bad influence on the safety is on the frontpage of the most popular newspaper in the Netherlands, the Telegraaf. Also mentioned on the newsbroadcasts on Dutch tv.

The charges are very serious. But I am not convinced they are genuine. I think this is all about money. The consumer is set to loose. If the no-frills airlines disappear the big boys will just get bigger.
