Aviation Sites On The Web

Wed Oct 06, 1999 2:05 am

Does anyone know of any other aviation sites with fleet updates, news, etc?
I've searched on the web but nothing close to what I want.
I've come accross some good ones but want more.

Check out Airliners magazine (not related to this site!). There's a column on commercial aviation web sites.

The latest news can be found at: http://biz.yahoo.com/news/airlines.html

It doesn't have fleet update stuff because it is not exclusively a commercial aviation site, but AvWeb is a great source of aviation news. You have to register to see most of the stuff, but it's free. Also, they will e-mail you a weekly news summary if you want them to. It's pretty good. This site is especially good for pilots and potential pilots, as it has a lot of articles on flying and aeronautical knowledge kind of stuff.

I use the following for airliner info:

Marc Schaeffer's pages:
http://www.surf.to/orders Latest airliner orders and order rumours.
http://www.surf.to/com Home page, with very interesting airliner links.

http://www.chicago.com/airliners Great site. I like the chat, and archives. Lots of links, including Schaeffer's pages, great circle routing distance, airframe and propulsion info, etc.

http://www.awgnet.com Aviation week site, I only look at the daily news part - this doesn't need a subscription.

http://www.aeroworld.net New issues every monday. Also, they have archived their Paris Air Show issues, which they published every day of the show this year.

Hope all this helps.

Here is fairly good site that has been recently updated. It list most boeing and airbus models when they were built where they are and and anything interesting about each plane.
