Differences: 757,767,777?

I was spotting at JFK with Mirrodie the other day and I embarrassed myself throughout the entire time lovely.

I kept wrongly identifying aircraft. When I see a plane form the side, it's pretty easy. But when they are facing me, I have a tough time.

I know that the 752 is not as thin as the 753, and therefore I was confusing it with the 762. How pathetic of me! lol

I need an all out list. I need a compliation of the identifiable features and differences between the following planes, ALL of the physical differences, for ALL of it's multiple versions:






Please help me. And try not to rip on me too much. I've done a thread search, but can't get an altogether list.

I thank you in advance for you assistance.

If you want a simple guide:

From head on ALL 757s look exactly the same as they use the same fuselage.

All 767s look the same, ditto the 777.

To tell between them, a simplistic way is that the 757 has a dolphin nose and has bigger windows and looks quite "leggy". From the side, there is an extra set of windows in front of the wings on the 753 and the aircraft looks exceedingly long compared to a 752

The 767 has "meaner" looking windows and looks closer to the ground and fatter from the front. The 300 has extra length in front of the wing and the design looks "balanced" compared to the short and stubby looking 200. The 400 looks very long.

The 777 is out on its own. From the front, mean windows, very rotund and the engines are, by comparison, massive.

A300 to A310 from the side is easy, as the 310 is comparatively short and has only one exit door in front of the wing. Iimpossible to tell apart from the front as theyshare the same fuselage barrel.

One easy way of distinguishing the 777 from the 757 and 767 is that its main landing gear (beneath the wings, not to be confused with the nose gear) has 3 pairs of wheels while the 767 and 757 have a pair of 2 wheels.

Have a gander around the photo database here on and learn/take down notes for yourself on the differences between the aircraft  Smile

Yes, looking at the database is an excellent idea.

Another 777 visual que', it's the only one out of the group with a tapered tail. Whereas the rest have a cone tail.

Another way to tell the A300 from the A310 from the front is look at them from front to rear and the 310 sits more flat. The A300 sits low in the front ang the body angles up as you go toward the rear as with the 330,340 and 777. Also the wing on the A300 angles up more toward the end and sits higher off the gorund than the 310's wing tip.

Thank you Mirrodie, that was a bit more helpful.

Also, Mirrodie pointed out to me thatthe main gear on the 767 is angled downward, as opposed to the 777 and 757, which angle upward.
