This only works for people who speak Dutch, but Zurich's airport's name sounds very weird for us. 'Kloten' (as in 'zurich Kloten airport') means 'balls', as in 'male testicles' in Dutch. And I'm not talking about the 'clean' and polite word for it...

Theres a little one I've been to in southwest Wyoming. A really crappy, redneck, little grass runway that probably gets one operation a month... Greater Green River Intergalactic Spaceport (48U)

btw, Ditch Witch is an earth moving company. My old next door neighbor was a regional manager (I believe) for them.

So, that pretty much explains the 'DW' (Ditch Witch) in their Citation 550 N550DW. I wouldnt have given it a thought, but, it was flying to Traverse City, my home airport. Its registered to "The Charles Machine Works Inc." Perry, Oklahoma.

Only Congress would name an airport after 2 Presidents: Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). What's next? Houston George Bush George W Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)?

Its better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air than be in the air wishing you were on the ground. Fly safe!

I agree with the other speakers, Kloten is absolutely hilarious in Dutch, also because the word is used like in the US the word "sucking" or "it sucks."
Some other slighly funny names are Bristol Lulsgate (again with the vulgar way of talking about another male organ (same would be if kulula of south Africa would be better known here). Somewhat more innocently, the former name of Johannesburg; Jan Smuts Airport, sounds kind of dorky, Smuts sounds like the sound of a pie you smash in someone's face.
nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport... poor old Ronald probably doesn't realize that there is an airport named after him and where it is.

Ok, since the Dutch have such funny translations, does Schiphol mean Shithole? LOL.
