Anyone Know About Airport KTNT?/ B752 N610G

Fri Jul 19, 2002 2:20 am

Ok.. I have two questions... Does anyone have any info about this airport? I have never heard of it. It seems like they get quite a bit of training (Mil/Civilian) going on there according to Airnav. Anyone ever been there?

DADE-COLLIER TRAINING AND TRANSITION

Now, my next question is about this Boeing 757 (N610G) that I have been tracking all over the place, trying to get an idea of what the heck its function is... Its flight yesterday flew from KSAV (Savannah, GA)-KTNT (DADE-COLLIER TRAINING AND TRANSITION). Today, its slated to fly to KSRQ (Sarasota, FL)-KSAT (San Antonio Intl, TX)... Over the past couple weeks its been to KORF (Norfolk Intl VA) ,KPVD (Providence RI),KCEW (Bob Sikes Airport, Crestview, FL), KGRB (Green Bay, WI) . It says it belongs to Raytheon, but, it says COMCO on the tail...

TNT was built strictly for training purposes, back in the 1960s or 70s, I think. Back then, you had Eastern and National with their HQs and hubs there, and there were lots of training stuff going on. Last time I looked, there was nothing out there as far as any kind of terminal facilities or hangers.

This would be about right... It says "ACR TRNG OPNS ONLY." in the airport remarks section... I am sure the planes cant stop for long periods of time so the pilots can "chill" so to speak.

Its by far the coolest ILS I have logged in my training. It is a decent airport out in the middle of the swamp. Dynamite

Boeing 757 N610G is 40 miles out of ICT inbound right now. I guess this is good, airports that dont normally see 757's have a chance. This plane sure does get around.

According to an earlier thread this plane was seen even in places like Tunis and Dakar...
