Qatar Airways' growth in the cargo market is phenomenal. Cargo tonnage in the 2001-2002 financial year rose 27% over the 2000-2001 financial year. Figures for this year are very encouraging

At the Farnborough Air Show Qatar Airways signed a contract with EADS EFW for the conversion of a single A300-600R which will be acquired from the second hand market later in the year. The A300-600F is expected to enter service next year and will be operated jointly with another undisclosed cargo airline.
