There is also another interesting poll at the end of the article America's worst airline? You do have to register (free) to view the results. If interested I'll post the results.

Notice how those are the only 10 choices available to vote for. If someone liked United's F for example, they couldn't vote for it. Another example: British Airways concorde is on there, but AF's isn't.

another thing: SQ is one of the best in it's five, but the first five are also very good airlines, so saying that it got 50% of the vote in its category(L-Z) is like saying that the Ford Windstar was voted the best minivan in its class in the T-Z category with more than 50% of the votes.

keep in mind this is from 2001...

Based on five criteria-complaints, lost luggage, comfort, denied boardings and on-time flights-America West ranks worst among the top ten carriers. Its score of 43.8 means it fared, on average, only 44% as well as the top airline in each category in the year 2000. Delta ranks best.

AMERICAWEST 43.8
Consistently weak in most areas

TRANSWORLD1 56.7
Worst at honoring seat reservations

UNITED 61.5
Worst at getting you to your destination on time

NORTHWEST 70.5
Average in most areas

CONTINENTAL 70.9
Best at getting you to your destination on time

AMERICAN 71.9
Lost a lot of baggage

US AIRWAYS 72.0
Many flight delays

ALASKA 72.4
Lost least amount of baggage

SOUTHWEST 72.6
Fewest complaints from passengers

DELTA 76.3
Best at honoring seat reservations

Exactly Lowfareair! Not a very fair poll, if you ask me.
The airlines chosen appear to be "our (Forbes') favorite first-class sections".

Found this article very interesting. It should be titled
Which First Class Is Best? Singapore Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Virgin Atlantic Airways, American Airlines, British Airways Concorde, Emirates, Lufthansa, Qantas or South African Airways?

 Big thumbs up

It's clever that Virgin managed to come 4th considering they don't have a first class Big grin

Great news for Singapore Airlines.

Regarding lowfareair's second paragraph, your point I think is quite clear, however there wasn't anything stopping people voting BA more for example, so even if say SIA was in a group of it's own with AA for example and another group with the other airlines, SIA would still come out on top.  Confused
