American Connection

While browsing through the AA timetable, I found that BNA has lost all mainline jet service to STL. Is it a better plan to offer 7 flights on ERJs and a J31 than offering 5 or so flights on the DC-9s and MD-80s? Also why did they institute flights between BNA-TRI and BNA-ATL, I would think that the ATL flight would lose money thanks to Delta, and with the flights going to TRI always full would it not be prudent to fly Saabs on the flights instead of the J31?

These are flown by Corporate have for quite some time before AA even came into the picture.
