SQ Economy/Raffles/First Seat Pitch?

Tue Jul 30, 2002 2:21 pm

What are the seat pitches (in inches) for all 3 the classes? I know that for Economy its 32", but have no idea for Raffles and First.

Your help is appreciated,

I think economy on SQ's 777s is 33in - very comfortable.

Wow, so the SQ Raffles class has a large seat pitch...but then why the TV on the in-front seat? Hmm..
Normally I've heard business class is only 39" or so...in that case SQ has excellent business class. Or am I wrong?

Most airlines today have 47-60 inches pitch in business class while some airlines like Singapore Airlines, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways, QANTAS have (or is about to) introduced almost full flat seating in business class. So Singapore Airlines is not the only airline to an offer excellent business class product when it comes to seating.

Lear757,

Raffles Class PTVs are not mounted on the backs of seats; in the case of the "Ultimo" and "Ultimo Plus" seats they are stored in a compartment next to the seat and pulled out. Not sure where they are on the Spacebed.

On the Singapore Airlines SpaceBed, the 10.4" Wisemen PTV is in the back of the seat in front.

Singapore_Air - Not quite: they are mounted on the back of the seat surround in front - just to avoid any confusion (I am waiting for someone to ask 'whats the point of a PTV in the back of a seat that reclines to be fully flat?'!)

Hey Singaporeair, Lear757 was asking about seat pitch, and the Space bed's 78" seems more like the bed length than the seat pitch. So do you know what's the real seat pitch for the Space bed ? Thanks !

Oxygen - don't quote me on this, but I believe it is about 60" (that is the figure on Cathay anyway, and they have a broardly similar arrangement)

I know that on the Ultimo seats they are stored in the seat...thats how they've been since a while already. But now they're on the seat in front...so when you lie down its impossible to watch tv. Oh well, give and take I guess!

And yes, I did ask for the seat pitch of the seat...not of the bed, thanks for that. If anybody does know this, please tell me.

Oxygen: Seat pitch in Raffles with Spacebed is app. 60-62". Most airlines offering 'beds' in business class have arranged the seats with that distance - at least CX, JL, NH, VS and so will QF. Looking at SQ seatmaps, I don´t think that SQ´s Spacebed vary much from that.
