Orange County Air Pattern

Wed Dec 16, 1998 2:41 pm

I have lived around the Orange County Airport for only two years so I don't know this yet, do any commerical aircraft ever land in the John-Wayne Airport from the Ocean or NewPort Beach?

I saw a United Airlines 757-200, Alaska Airlines 737-400, Continental Airlines 737-700 and Federal Express aircraft land but from the North.

United777 your posting like no other!
What do you mean? I confused?
They land from the ocean when the
winds are blowing offshore. The Newport
Beach Pier is alomst the outer marker
fro runway 01left. I hope I answered your
question.

If you mean land on 01L which I think you do! Yes the do land on that runway. I saw people taking off from it today also. They only do it when the santana is blowing.

International airline flights would land at LAX
However, some bizjets coming from HNL do land at SNA.
