What is this aircraft? It's always sitting in the same spot at LAX, an ex-British 744 with Qantas titles...anybody know?

It's VH-NLH, formerly G-BNLH. Owned by BA but leased to QF untill December of this year while they upgrade their 744's. It's been used on domestic flights, HKG services, the odd flight to AKL and now seems to be on the LAX run.

I guess you've seen it during it's layover in LAX-I'm not clued up on QF TransPacific operations but hopefully one of our Aussie members will give you a little more detail.

I think it has been doing the AKL-LAX run
I like work: it fascinates me. I can sit and look at it for hours. Jerome K Jerome

VH-NLH has been doing the QF25/26 routed BNE-AKL-LAX, with the occasional SYD-BNE and BNE-SYD to bring her to Sydney for maintenance. The aircraft spends the day between the 25 and 26 on a remote stand at LAX.
