Saudi Arabian's BRU "hub"

Mon Aug 05, 2002 12:10 am

I went to BRU airport today and saw three Saudi freighters (2 MD-11Fs and one B747-200F). Lately everytime I go to BRU and stay for +/- 3 hours I see at least 2 Saudi freighters. Considering their freighter fleet cosists of 4 MD-11Fs and 2(?) B747-200Fs that means half their fleet is used on the Saudi Arabia-Belgium market! Does anyone know what makes this market so active?

Not only is bru a kind of an european hub, but sv also goes thru bru for their technical stops for the jfk bound flts. Do not forget that from a geographic point of view, bru has a central position;
