Pro Sports Teams And Their Airlines/Aircraft

Mon Oct 11, 1999 10:04 pm

Just out of curiosity, Does anyone know any of the airlines used by professional sports teams from the NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB, WNBA, MLS when they travel to play ...

These are a few that I know of - feel free to correct me if I am wrong on any of them and add to the list.

To read under each league :
Team - Airline (Aircraft used)
1.Miami Heat - Miami Air (B727)
2.L.A.Lakers - Own 727?
3.Phoenix Suns - America West (??)

1. Dallas Cowboys - American Airlines (Typically B757)
2. Arizona Cardinals - America West (B757)

Seems like an interesting list to have ... or does it?
I've flown on 9V-SPK.

The St Louis Rams must have used TWA at one time at least, as TWA has an MD 80 series painted with the Rams colors.

The Atlanta Hawks have a 737-200 charter which they use. It is white with the Hawks emblem on the vertical fin.

Air Canada has a A320 painted in Toronto Raptor colors but I dont know if they charter the team.

Air Canada used to charter for the Raptors, but the Raptors didn't like their service, or something, so now the Raptors are flying with Sporthawk, which is operated by Skyservice.

Not to be anal or anything, but the St. Louis Rams (pro football) have a TWA 727-200 painted in their colors (the Rams helmet on the front of the plane).

looks pretty nice if I do say so myself!
