Where Would You Fly?

Tue Aug 06, 2002 8:11 am

I just thought of an intriguing question. This is merely a fantasy, but if you had free passes on an airline of your choice, (or it's alliance partners) to any city in their route system what would it be and where would you fly? Here's my little fantasy list.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

-Singapore Airlines (United MCI-DEN-LAX, SQ LAX-TPE-SIN & back via LHR-ORD on UA)
-SkyTeam (Delta-MCI-ATL-CDG, CDG-PRG on Air France, CSA PRG-MXP, MXP-INC on Alitalia, INC-LAX on KE, and DL LAX-SLC-MCI)
-One World (American MCI-ORD-LHR, British Airways LHR-MAD, Iberia MAD-DUB, Aer Lingus DUB-BOS, AA BOS-ORD-MCI)
-One World (American MCI-DFW-LAX, Qantas LAX-SYD-MEL, & back....nearly got to do this one this summer as a student ambassador to Australia, but unfortunately things didn't work out :*-()
-Delta (MCI-CVG-JFK-CDG, Emirates CDG-DXB & back)
-United & All Nippon (MCI-ORD-HKG on UAL, and HKG-NRT-KIX-NRT on All Nippon, NRT-ORD-MCI on UAL)

Those are just a few, there are so many others.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy I know I may have gone overboard, but those would be dream trips for me. I've never left the US, nor flown on a widebody (to my knowledge....but I might have flown a couple of DL 767s or L-10s before, but if I did I was too young to remember). So anything away from the norm would be great. I may have made it look like OneWorld is my favorite alliance, but it's actually SkyTeam, just so ya know! But I would have to say OneWorld comes in at second. Anyways, lemme see what your fantasy flights would be!

I'll just give one for each major alliance. These are more just to set foot in the country or countries along the way. If I were actually considering a vacation, these would be different, but vacations are expensive, so I'm thinking of these as something like an inexpensive weekend adventure. Here I go:

Star Alliance- ATL-FRA (LH); FRA-BAK-Ashgabat, Turkmenistan (LH); Ashgabat-BAK (LH); BAK-VIE (Austrian); VIE-FRA (Austrian); FRA-ATL (LH)

Skyteam- ATL-ICN (Korean); ICN-SIN (Korean); SIN-CDG (AF); CDG-MXP (Alitalia); MXP-ATL (DL)

One World- ATL-ORD (AA); ORD-MIA (AA); MIA-EZE (AA); EZE-SCL (Lan Chile); SCL-Auckland-SYD (Lan Chile); SYD-HKG (Qantas); HKG-LHR (Cathay); LHR-DUB (BA); DUB-ORD (Aer Lingus); ORD-ATL (AA)

NWA/KLM/CO- ATL-MSP (NW); MSP-EWR (NW); EWR-HKG (CO); HKG-NRT (NW, if they do that flight); NRT-AMS (KLM); AMS-DTW (NW); DTW-ATL (NW)

Star- DFW-LAX-YYZ-FRA-CPH-LHR-BKK-SYD-LAX-DFW (in order: UA,AC,LH,SAS,SAS,TG,ANZ,ANZ,UA)

Skyteam- DFW-CVG-CDG-SEL-DFW (DL,AF,KE,KE)

Oneworld- DFW-ORD-LHR-HEL-MAD-LHR-HKG-MEL-SYD-EZE-SCL-DFW (AA,BA,AY,IB,IB,CX,QF,QF,LA,LA,AA)

This is assuming we get first class, right?  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
