Same Route Over And Over And Over Again...

Mon Aug 12, 2002 5:06 pm

Past weekend i counted my flights that i've flown and came up with an interesting fact: I've flown the same route from HEL to RHO and back 52 times in my life and I am only 26.Also it is possible to fly this route only on summertime since Rhodos is a holiday destination. Although it takes only about 4 hours I concider myself a veteran on this route...
Finnair has been the carrier I think 48 times , Maersk Air twice and Sterling Airways twice.
Shouldn't i get free tickets??? lol

What's your route you have flown over and over and over again?

I've done Bangkok - Singapore - Bangkok once a week for about 8 months in a row ... guess what, I really got tired of the queues at Bangkok Immigration after a while.

Otherwise I'm a regular on Europe - Singapore - Europe, average 2 roundtrips a year

ANU-SJU (and then onto the states) is my mainstay. I can't give an exact number, but a few dozen times I think.

I have flown very often the route DUS-FRA but since I noticed that DTM is much better than DUS, I fly from DTM to FRA.

This year I have flown three times DUS-FRA-DUS (on LH), four times DTM-FRA-DTM (on EW) and one oneway flight from DTM to FRA (on EW).

It's HKG-BKK & HKG-SIN for me. Me & my family have traveled to Singapore & Bangkok every year since 1994, as we've got lots of relatives who live in both cities & we always end up having a great time, especially in Bangkok. Fantastic city.  Smile

I've done TLV-FRA and back quite a few times (not sure exactly but something like 15 times).
TLV-LHR (4 times).
TLV-ORY (3 times)
Also, my last 3 flights were between TLV and ZRH and the next one coming up in 10 days time is also to ZRH.
That apart, SYD-BKK (3 times) is the only other one that springs to mind.
Other than that, I've flown a lot but on many different varying routes.

For me it used to be SFO-ORD and then eventually ORD-SFO. Nowadays it's ORD-LGA to visit my sister.

My most common route is SFO-ZRH-SFO which I have done about 17 times. (I'm 16) The problem is that it is always via, something and that is never a constant.

Used to go LCY - AMS three or four times a month when I was dating a Dutch girl .... goodness, at least my bank balance is grateful for the fact we split up after a couple of months ... I did grow to like KLM's trusty Fokker 50 though ...

for me it is TRN FRA ( or MUC) JFK or EWR...
about 10 times a year, some like 200.000 miles on LH....
the crews know me and usually it is kind of fun because other passengers thinks you are a VIP or something due to the smiles and the friendliness of the F/A's...not to mention soemtimes the "smuggled" caviar from first to my business served to me standing in the C galley...and the pics and postcards we are starting to send to each other...

For me it should be Singapore - Hong Kong return.

Done over more than 25 return flights already, all of them on SQ. I did 3 already this year and another one on 28th September back to Hong Kong from Sydney

I've also donw Singapore - Sydney for more than 13 times, again on SQ. Not too bad I think as i'm only 18!

Anyways, flying is really great I reckon. And transit at Changi is just comfortable.

Best Regards

I used to fly a weekly TUS-PHX-TUS trip. I suspect I'd flown the route 300 times over the past 25 years. Now I can drive 50 minutes and be in PHX. I admit that I live 50 miles closer now but even if it were still a 120 mile drive, since September 11 last, I could drive to PHX in less than half the time a flight would take. Ihate the drive rather less than the BS at the airports.

Last year alone, I flew MEX-MTY-MEX 31 times (that is 62 flights). I have flown the route this year too, but I have stopped counting, I'll let you know at the end of the year!

Second one would have to be MEX-DFW. At least a dozen times on the route.

I grew up in an expat community in Sumatra, and everything we had to get was in Singapore. I'm not sure how many times I flew from Singapore to Pekan Baru, but I did it once a month for three years, and at least 50 times in the other years. I figure I've flown that route 100 times (round trips).
We also flew to San Francisco and back once a year for seven years. I think I've flown the old SQ001/SQ002 route about 5 times. I'm not sure how many times I flew between HNL and SFO, but I've been to Honolulu about 20 times. All except one I either flew either from, or to, SFO.
Unfortunately, now a days I don't have any regular flights (you have to fly regularly to have one) I have flown between OAK-PDX four times in the last three years, but didn't do it this year. I live in the Bay Area, so obviously I've had a lot of flights between OAK-LAX. I try to avoid those flights, because LA is the scourge of the earth (my Northern California bias, I'm not allowed to say anything good about LA).

For me it'd be FAR-MSP and FAR-ORD (about two dozen times each) and also ORD-DUS when that flight still existed. Now there are several ORD-LHR and ORD-FRA segments on my list. (After I had used the IAD-DUS once, I decided to never do that again. Washington Dulles Airport is disgusting and you have to wait in line forever).

BOM-LHR-JFK at least 2-3 times each year for 25 yrs. Throw in a few extra JFK-LHR-JFK and you've got a fair amount of transatlantic crossings.

I have been flying between the US and Europe several times a year for the past 23 years. Lately my route that I fly over and over and over is LAX-IAH-LAX. I usually fly somewhere every few weeks. Next flight is on Saturday, just a short hop on WN LAX-LAS.

For me, it would deffinately be between ATL or CVG and SAN. I have been to California 19 times in 14 years and 17 of those have been to SAN. I would have flown between CVG and SAN 14 times and between ATL and SAN 20 times. All of those have been on Delta. I know that's nothing compared to some of you, but it's not bad.

PHL-ATL and ATL-PHL once a month for the last 12 years. LOL. So quite a few flights! ATL-PIT is also a VERY high number of flights.

To and from Chicago and San Diego, definitely. I have relatives in Chicago, and I use ORD often for connections. I can't tell you how many times I've flown on those AA Super 80's on SAN-ORD-SAN!!!

In fact, a few hours ago I just got off an ORD-SAN flight, connecting from Montreal.
