Sat Aug 17, 2002 11:41 am

China and Egypt has signed a deal which will see 2 airlines flying between China and Egypt from October 27.

Egypt Air will fly Cairo-Shanghai-Beijing, while China Southern flying Beijing-Cairo non-stop.

Exact flight details will be released in the coming weeks.

What aircrfat will both airlines use? why arent Air China operating the route? I also want to know why CA only fly to Kuwait in the Middle East, why are they not expanding in the region? what were their past Middle East routes? I vaguely recall Duabi and Sharjah in the UAE as well as Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.
.....up there with the best!

In China's Big 3, Air China has the most international route, comparing to China Eastern and Southern.

This is part of the factor why China Southern gets to fly.

Airmale, Air China indeed flew to Sharjah back in the late 80s/early 90s. They had flights to Paris,London etc with their B747SPs/200s. I failry sure that they didn't fly to Dubai though.  Smile

does CZ still have services to LAX? if they do, together with SYD and AMS they only have 3 non-asian destinations.....not much for one of China's biggest airlines, so it's a good thing they expand their network a little bit.....

KL713, CZ still flies LAX 4 times weekly, code-share with Delta.

LAX-CAN is one of the CZ's money making route.
