Northwest 4422 And Dateline NBC

Wed Aug 21, 2002 5:27 am

Anybody else happen to catch last Friday night's episode of "Dateline NBC"? The majority of the hour was spent detailing the efforts of two men to locate the wreckage of Northwest 4422, a DC-4 that crashed in the mountains of Alaska while on a flight back in 1948.

Dateline's premise was that the searchers were checking out the rumor that gold was being transported on the plane.

Here are a couple of articles on the topic:

I found the documentary to be interesting, and was glad to see that the overall goal of the search evolved into a search for why the plane crashed, as to searching for lost gold.

Yeah, I saw it. It was pretty interesting. There was a similar crash in the Andes a while ago. It had been swallowed up by a glacier too. That was something else how that Delta and Norhtwest pilot met. I wonder if they have been back to the crash site since the show was taped.
It was pretty good episode.

Well, have fun.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
