Finally!!! The L1049 Connie is coming to Lelystad and it's there to stay! After some years of restoration it's finally flying. It will arrive the 31st of August at Lelystad Airshow. A big thing for the Netherlands!
That's great news for everyone with an interest in aviation.
The Connie is a famous part in the history of aviation, thanks to all the people involved in this project!
Looking forward to see it flying in Europe in the near future, I guess, there will some shots uploaded pretty soon.
Oh well. Iv'e seen the aircraft regulary since 1986 when it was at Ryan. I swa it arrive at Avra Valley, I've walked under it's wings and taken beautiful pictures from all angles. I just will miss the departure tomorrow. I hope the Dutch will love her as much as we have for all these years.
