In case anytone cares about real new instead of trivial horse hockey: Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse. Morale is even lower now at the company. Saab flying is being reduced, we're posting profits, giving CEOs huge raises, constantly losing flying to Pinnacle and now this bombshell today. You gotta love this industry... can we say contract time?
What they don't tell you though is that voluntary furloughs are being offered for an INDEFINITE time and that these numbers are based on a 8 pilot a month attritian rate. IF the rate is less than 8/mo up to a total of 100 pilots will be furloughed. They also don't tell you that 50 captains will be displaced to the right seat.
The thing that gets me the most is this brilliant comment:
"The reduced fall flight activity reflects the continued softness in passenger demand," DEMAND? We have 1 customer and that is Northwest. If demand is so soft from them why is Pinnacle (who's only customer is NW also) growing in leaps and bounds?
Mesaba operates with fixed costs... as long as we complete flights we get paid, regardless of how full the flight is. Again, we're making money, yet this is all happening!!!!!!
