I don't get this, VS and DL can earn miles on trans-atlantics(as I am assuming) but all the while they cry bloody murder when AA and BA try to do the same thing.
Umm, the AA/BA deal is just a little different from the simple arrangement announced by DL/VS. All the DL/VS deal does is reward passengers with Skymiles for flying VS. The AA/BA deal invovles codesharing, control of a large number of LHR slots, and running as pretty much one airline across the Atlantic which will, for all intents and purposes, stymie competition on routes between LHR and the USA. The DL/VS deal is none of these things and should not be compared with the proposed BA/AA alliance.
