Major US Airlines August 2002 Operating Statistics

In order of the news articles I found.

Delta Air Lines reported a 6.8% decrease in revenue passenger miles / yields throughout the group. Domestic US RPM fell 5.9% and international RPM fell 9.7%. Latin America yields however, did go up 4.6%, while transatlantic revenue fell 3.8%. There was a catastrophic fall in transpacific RPM - down 69.2%.

Capacity overall fell 7.3% throughout the group. Domestic capacity fell 6.5% overall and international capacity fell 10%. Latin American capacity rose 2.8% and transatlantic capacity fell 3%. Transpacific capacity was cut by a massiv 72.1% over the year before.

Load Factor rose 0.4% systemwide - domestic load factor rose by the same amount to 76.1%. International load factors rose 0.3% with transpacific flights performing the best with a 8.2% increase in load factor to 86.2%, most probably because of cheaper fares. Latin America load factor rose 1.7% to 71.5% and transatlantic load factor fell 0.3% to 83%.

9 818 810 passengers flew with Delta Airlines Group in August.

Northwest Airlines reported a 7.9% decrease in overall capacity for August 2002. Domestic US capacity fell 7.1%. Transpacific capacity was cut by 10.6% and transatlntic capacity fell 6.3%.

Overall revenue passenger miles / yields fell 7.7%, with US Domestic RPM falling 7.1%, transpacific RPM falling 10.6% and transatlantic RPM registering a 10.5% decrease.

Load factors overall however, did go up 0.1% to 80.7%. US Domestic load factor underperformed by 0.1% to 76.9%, but both transpacific and transatlantic load factors did improve by 0.1% and 1.5% to 87.6% and 84.7% respectively.

Approximately 5 160 000 passengers boarded NWA Group flights - down 8.3% year on year.

United Airlines reported a 13.3% decrease in overall capacity for August 2002. North American capacity fell 9.1%, transpacific capacity fell 16.5%, transatlantic capacity fell 22.8%, and Latin American capacity fell 27.6%.

Overall revenue passenger miles / yields fell 12.9%, with North American RPM falling 7.8%, transpacific RPM falling 15.9%, transatlantic RPM falling 24% and Latin American RPM registering a 30.7% decrease.

Load factors however did go up 0.4% to 78.8%. North American load factor outperformed others with an increase of 1.1% to 77.5%, but both transatlantic and Latin American load factors falling 1.4% and 3.1% to 68.8% and 78.8% respectively. Transpacific load factor rose 0.5% to 82.7%

Approximately 6 834 000 passengers boarded UAL Corp flights - down 13.6% year on year.

US Airways reported a 19.2% decrease in overall scheduled capacity for August 2002. Domestic US capacity fell 21.2% and international traffic fell 8.6%. International capacity has not been split up into world regions.

Overall revenue passenger miles / yields fell 17.6% on scheduled services, with Domestic US RPM falling 20.1% and international RPM registering a 5.3% decrease. International RPM has not been split up into world regions.

The systemwide load factor however did go up 1.5% to 73.2%. Load factors have not been split up into world regions.

33 595 388 passengers boarded US Airways Group flights - down 20.1% year on year.

INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 5, 2002--American Trans Air, Inc. (ATA), the principal subsidiary of ATA Holdings Corp. (Nasdaq:ATAH), today reported that its system-wide traffic, expressed in revenue passenger miles (RPMs), decreased 6.0 percent in August 2002 when compared with August 2001. Capacity (available seat miles) increased 2.3 percent.
In August, ATA's scheduled service traffic increased 9.0 percent, capacity increased 15.6 percent and the passenger load factor decreased 4.8 points to 79 percent.

I think you accidentally posted the year to date pax flown number for US, the number of pax flown for August 2002 was actually 4,399,952.
