Norwegian press sources report that SAS management has decided not to introduce new routes to Hong Kong, San Francisco and other destinations as it has been impossible to reach an agreement with various employee unions on the compagny´s future structure. As a result SAS management has been forced to cancel all plans for further route expansion and are now looking at further cut back in the workforce instead. It is reported that SAS will begin to lay off cockpit and cabin crew as well as administrative personnel in the coming weeks. Sad to see SAS being forced by unions to cut back instead of going ahead with the planned expansions.
