Whoever says that MAS is a yucky airline, I can truly say you have never flown it enough to experience the excellent service provided. Almost all my flights are flown with them and there is a reason why i remain loyal to them, even though i am Singaporean.
I wouldn't mind going through the transit in KLIA just to get to my destination. And The Skytrax Best Cabin Staff award is well deserved for MAS, I hope that is one of the many awards they would win, following Conde Nast's Best Business Class for 2 years running.
I have flown with them in all classes and i have never been disappointed. Although some sceptical Singaporeans might beg to differ, and some might even swear by her closest competitor, Singapore Airlines, I say to them "Try Malaysia, fly Malaysia"...
However patriotic some Singaporeans may be, I can only take so much crap from the world's most snobbish airline.
MAS is seriously under-rated, I don't blame the public because it wasn't too long ago in the early 90s that they were the airline to avoid. but they have turned around tremendously, just like how Qatar Airways did.
When the airline was going through the worst financial turmoil in history (to the brink of bakruptcy), the cabin crew sure showed no signs of it. Service remained top-notch to the end. Morale of the cabin crew remained intact and this gave me new found respect for them. Humble of the current situation, yet proud of the nation's airline without even a tinge of snobbery (Unlike Singapore Airlines).
There has never been a flight that I wasn't referred to by my name when i am in First or Business Class.
