Thu Sep 26, 2002 10:57 pm

Just got the news that F/D got itself a € 27 million funding from German governement, Bavaria gov and 4 banks. This will allow them to keep key employees for the next 4-5 months.

Key employees......

To be honest, this sounds almost like a Russian mine, trying to hold on to a workforce they cannot pay anymore....

Is there still a future for Faidor? If not, it's such a pity - such an excellent product, and now they leave Embraer virtually without competition in the advanced regional jet market. (After all, the Bombardier offerings are stretches of stretches of older planes. Faidor's and Embraer's were the only NEW designs...)

Recently a rumour popped up that Earl Robinson wants to take over the 328JET from October 1st. A larger bank, already an aircraft lessor, has signed something like a provisory order for 20 328JET.

If Earl Robinson gets his hands on the 328JET, that would be something quite ironic, given that he left Fairchild over a dispute regarding the 728.

By now I don't really care who takes care of the 328JET and/or 728 just as long as they don't have to die... I would really love to see the 728 finally fly the skies over Germany eventually gaining a new order by Lufthansa again...
