Name Of Qantas 707-138 VH-EBI?

Fri Sep 27, 2002 11:18 pm

Greetings folks...
I'm compiling a list of Qantas names of their one-time 707 fleet. One ship in particular escapes me. It's the former 707-138B VH-EBI. Does anyone here follow QF's history? It may be the "City of Winston", but I need confirmation from any fellow forum members who knows for certain. All replies appreciated. Regards.

"City of Winton" (not Winston) according to several reference sources I have at my disposal.

Don't forget that QF often changed the names of their aircraft.

Boeing 707-138B VH-EBI was named 'Winton'. This name is now carried by Boeing 747-438 VH-OJJ. Winton is not a city so the name is carried in single word form.

Thanks to everyone.  Wink/being sarcastic My next question is, if "Winton" is not a city, then what does the name mean? Regards.

Winton is a town in outback Queensland, and was one of Qantas' first destinations.
