White fuselage?
Well that narrows it down a bit! Big grin
Is that a change of colour at the tail end though?  Smile

Air Namibia or Air Canada? Or perhaps the old livery of EVA Air?

It can't be Air New Zealand, take a closer look at its belly.

SA has got two 744s that are GE-powered (ZS-SBK and ZS-SBS).

If we could make out the engines, perhaps it'll be a little easier? Definately don't look like RR to me.

That looks like an Air New Zealand.

Can't be VS old livery, the last 744 (G-VBIG) was at AMS getting it's D-check done when this pic was taken.

I think it's AC. If you look very very closely above the window's, just before the fuselage merges with the sky there is kind of a red round looking blob that I think is the AC logo.

It's C-GMWW of Air Canada, the clue to the mystery is the comment about the Qantas 744 approaching behind it. It's obviously not 5-6am so it means that the QF aircraft must be QF31, which arrived at 1136 BST, here are the arrival times in GMT:

ACA896 CGMWW B744 CYVR 1034 M32 09L

QFA031 VHOJD B744 WSSS 1036 W01 09L

AAL116 N780AN B772 KJFK 1037 L18 09L

These details are available on Stephen Bowler's excellent site.

It is 100% Air Canada because you can see the red line streching along the nose gear doors.

Anybody else notice that the left wing-tip fence appears to be missing?

Garuda - its just a bit of an optical illusion. The winglet happens to be roughly the same colour as the sky. If you open the image in the large version, you can just make it out.
