Will A 737-900 With More Exits Be Offered Or Not?

Mon Sep 30, 2002 5:37 pm

Not too long ago we had a thread here where it was mentioned that Boeing wanted to increase sales for the 737-900 by giving it a higher capacity through adding extra exits.
That was not the first time that I heard about that idea since many airlines feel stuck once they outgrow their 737-800 (with 189 pax.) and then have to either use the 757 or A321 but can't stay within the 737 family.
It has been said that Hapag LloydTUI (738 launch customer) is one of those airlines.

Has there been any further information coming from Boeing regarding this matter?
