I also disagree. It looks good. Most of the new liveries unveiled in the last 5-6 years stink: Delta, JAL, USAirways, BA (should have gone back to Landor), etc; The good new liveries: SAS and Cathay Pacific.
I think the SIA livery is very good, elegant and pretty well balanced.
I don´t see any point in changing it if it's a good design and it works ok for them
it's like the Iberia livery, it's been around for more than 20 years with just very subtle modifications and I bet it'll be around for many more, exactly the same as the KLM livery and Alitalia's. They're good, they work fine, why should they change?
Pity, BA didn´t think the same about the Landor livery.
SIAs livery is a classic, a very good one, but like every classic it isn´t exciting anymore after some time. It´s wrong to say that SIAs livery is just 14 years old, because the current scheme is just an update of the original of 1972.
Hearing that NW is looking to change its livery (which i think is more outstanding than SIAs) I definitely think SIA should start thinking. The launch of the A380 asks for new colours. There will be no better opportunity within the next 10 years. And I bet SIA will at least seriously consider that. Like Lufthansa should, and Air France, and others which livery is an aging classic.
On this forum it´s quite common to bash new liveries. But isn´t a new colourscheme not something that is most interesting about our hobby?
