WestPac ran out of money a few years ago and ceased all operations. Not much more I can tell you. As far as I know, they WERE NOT bought out by any other airline.

Hello All-Well WestPac was an airline that i LOVED dearly   The airline (in my opinion) stupidly moved its hub from COS to DEN and started losing money like crazy. THey went under on February 4th of 1997 or 1998, i forget! I know it sounds bad that i forget when they went under, but i do....They were doing good in COS, but then had the dumb idea to move. After that, WestPac and Frontier planned a merger which never went through due to several reasons. Well hope i helped!

It was February 4th 1997 when they quit, as I'd bought stock in October 96, thinking SWA was going to acquire them (same as SWA had acquired Morris Air in 1994.) Oh well..

Several (5, I think) of WP's 737s did indeed end up in SWA's fleet (and repainted) including the Simpson's yellow bird. Delta got a couple, and the others are scattered around the globe.

Neat airline, sure miss them....

Actually, this is the real reason why they went out of business:

F/A during wind-up of in-flight announcements:

"We have on-board an 86 year-old gentlemen who is making his first flight today! So say hello to your captain today on your way off the airplane."

I think we know what she meant, but somehow it just didn't quite come out right!
