Boyd Gaming's Vacations Hawaii Selects New Charter Service



LAS VEGAS, Oct. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Boyd Gaming Corporation
(NYSE: BYD) announced today that Vacations Hawaii, its Honolulu-based travel
agency specializing in all-inclusive Las Vegas bound tour packages, has
entered into an agreement with Omni Air International to provide direct air
service from Hawaii to Las Vegas beginning February 1, 2003. The existing
agreement with Hawaiian Airlines is set to expire January 31, 2003.

hum.... I wonder how OY is going to handle this. They already fly 4 flights a week using the DC-10-30 under contract from MLT Vacations.

They just got another dc-10-30 and they are getting another one they are leasing them from CO. This is good news to me

HA will sell them to OY !

just kidding, HA will add a non stop HNL/LAS flight in addition to the 1 stop HNL/LAS flight. The flights will be operated by B767 aircraft.
We cannot wait to get the 767 here in LAS !!!

About a month ago I went and shot this Hawaiian 763ER, it was the 10am departure. I went there last Sunday, over a month later, and the same plane was still flying the flight  Sad

As HAL discussed this in a previous message, Boyd needs the seats.

"Our CEO said it was a mutual decision to end the charters, because they were a money losing deal for us, and the charter companies wanted to pack people into the plane - something we won't be doing with the 767. We will be starting daily scheduled service HNL- LAS as soon as the charters end. Hopefully we can get a lot of those people with HA FF miles to stick with us."
