Spotting Trip Through US

Sun Oct 06, 2002 9:17 am

So I have a little extra time right now for a trip and I was thinking that I might drive through some of the country to different airports to spot. I am in DC so I was thinking south and west of here. Does any one have any suggesitons on a route or airports where spotting would be possible and also interesting?

If I were you, I'd just go to JFK, although places to spot there are supposedly limited. How far south and west do you want to go? MIA is a great place for spotting, and DFW and DAL have an excellent spotting areas...At DFW there is actually a small park set aside for spotting that provides excellent view of aircraft taking off, taxiing, and landing. At DAL the top of the parking garages are excellent for spotting and no one seems to care.
