Today I Tried One Of The Spacebeds!

Wed Oct 09, 2002 9:04 pm

Today SIA had a display of its new spacebeds in Sydney's Martin Place in the heart of the CBD. I tried it and was helped by a beautiful Singapore Girl. It was amazing and so comfortable. SIA has to be one of the best airlines in the world.

Has anyone been on the spacebeds on an actual flight. If so, What did you think about it?

Will be on them next friday night 18/10 from SIN-SYD. At least that's what my TA tells me. Apparently, just out of interest, the way to look them up if you make a seat request on a 744 is if the layout doesn't have a row 15 (upper deck) or 25 AC/HK (main deck), then it's spacebed equipped. Those are the 8 seats they took out. A colleague of mine came back yesterday on SQ319 LHR-SIN and said the seats were fabulous. Slept like a baby he said.

More details can be found at http://www.spacebed.com.au/, including the viewing schedule in key Australian cities.

It's all very well for SQ to provide a demonstration on flat ground, but they need to tilt the viewing platform about 3 or 4 degrees above vertical to compensate for the attitude of the aircraft in flight.
