Alitalia Coral Class On 3 B767/300ER

Thu Oct 10, 2002 1:34 am

I was informed by a friend that the 3 ex-Eurofly (The Alitalia charter division) B767/300ER now in AZ fleet for schedule flights haven't been re-configured yet. So these plane have a cabin with 24 Coral class seats in 45" pitch and 245 Economy seats in 31" pitch (possibly the two last economy class rows are used by crews).

The Coral class seats are sold as business class and not as Magnifica.
Coral class was the premium class Eurofly offered on charter flights.

Coral Class exists on flights from Milan MXP to Bombay, Caracas, Lagos, Accra and Dubai.

Eurofly now flies two A330/200. Since the high season for long-haul charters starts the week before Christmas and due to uncertain future of the company, they haven't sold all the hours available, it will be possible to see on some AZ schedule long-haul flights the Eurofly A332s in the next months.

Alitalia keeps on offering a two class service on all its long haul planes,
do you think it is a wise choice compared to the usual 3 (or even 4) classes offered by the main world carriers?

Wouldn't a true First Class in addition to the current Magnifica, be a plus?
Not to mention that many carriers are offering sleeping beds in Business as well.....

Ciao
