What Happened To Airtours A330 To Brazil?

Sat Oct 12, 2002 6:27 am

Hi

I believe Airtours flew for a time, with their A330s, to fabulous Salvador in Brazil. What happened to this flight? Was it only a trial? Was it seasonal? Was it a failure?

I'd love to get a cheapo to Brazil, especially Salvador, as I was born there.

Regards

Yes,
Airtours (MyTravel!!) did have a weekly A330 flight last Summer from Gatwick to Salvador, Air 2000 operated a B767-300 on alternate weeks to Recife and Natal.

Both flights were scheduled for this summer, but were cancelled after September 11th. No plans for them to return in 2003 either. Only new long-haul charter route I'm aware of for summer 2003 is Air 2000 to Aruba from Gatwick and Manchester on alternate weeks.

Thanks for all that information Crosswind.

Sorry, forgot completely about the changes....

What a shame all those Brazil routes were dropped, must have been more interesting than the usual Spanish Costas! For Pilots as well as pax.

Hi Crosswind,

Aren't AMM also introducing services to St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands next season?

Cheers!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
