European (EAL) 747-200 At Ams?

Mon Oct 14, 2002 6:33 am

Yesterday and today (12/13 October) I noticed a European Aircharter (EAL) 747-200 being handled at the G-pier. Does anybody know what it was doing at Schiphol? I assume they operate charter flights to/from Amsterdam? But for which airline/tour operator? I do have to say that their 747's look in great shape (quite shiny) and their livery somehow does look striking. It also gives me a good feeling to still see a new 747-200 operator, now that many airlines are disposing of these beautiful aircraft.

Anyone knows more about European Aircharter (EAL) at SPL?

A European 747 (G-BDXJ) was in Hawaii and a bunch of people wrote to me saying that it carried personnel from the Minardi and a couple of other Formula One teams from Indianapolis, where the United States Grand Prix was held two weeks ago, to the Japanese Grand Prix, was is being held today. The owner of European Aviation also owns the Minardi Formula One team, and one of their 747s usually flies to all Formula One races outside Europe.

Hi,

Martinair needed some extra capacity so European was doing a couple of flights for Martiniar this weekend.
The next couple of weekends more flights will be operated for Martinair.
See http://surf.to/spotter and select the schiphol spotting link for the dates.

regards,
Marcel
