Does Anybody Own Or Fly An Aviat A-1 Husky?

Wed Oct 16, 2002 10:28 am

This looks like a very nice aircraft. Does anybody here own or fly one of these aircraft? If you do, what do you think of it?

Havn't flown a Husky, but have a few hours in the plane it's based on, the Piper Super Cub. (the Husky, is in effect, a Super Cub with more creature comforts)

What do you want to know?

It is based on the Super Cub design and has it's good points.

But there are quite a few Super Cub operators who feel that it is not the aircraft that a modified Super Cub is. Mainly because of weight and layout issues.

Well, from their website it seems like a pretty nifty aircraft. Of course, that is a little biased coming from their website.

Mike,

Are you a student at UIUC? If you are, we should meet up some time, talk aviation, you know the gig  Laugh out loud
