GSO This Week

Wed Oct 16, 2002 10:12 pm

Well, sort of upgraded service. Same number of flights but larger aircraft.

After 9/11, United downgraded GSO to 2 737s per day with a CRJ. About 6 months ago they upgraded GSO to using A319 and A320 service. Now, we are up to 757 morning service and A320 or 757 afternoon service. Along with US Airways doing the same (upgrading to A319) to LGA and PHL.

And, on a lighter note, we now have two TWA 757s and a Royal Jordanian of some kind and another Varig 757 and a new Alitalia 757 came in.

Definately some neat stuff coming in this week.

Is that UA 727 still at TIMCO ? I wish UA would upgrade thier IAD service to CRJ's . Those J41's suck. Have they scrapped that TWA new colors L1011 yet ?

Great news for GSO.
Yea, sure, you get a 75 and all we get are a few stinkin' CRJs.  Smile
Still think when Untied gets in a better situation RDU will be one of the first to get mainline service back.
But it is still great to see more seats out of GSO. Hope this expansion lasts.

In other news, we had a NW 722 here in RDU a few days ago. Doesn't beat the TIMCO planes though.

Actually, I think the Royal Jordanian may be here for the furniture market.

We always get a ton of oddball planes in here from other countries to take furniture from High Point back on.
