Aborted Logan Takeoff?

Fri Oct 18, 2002 2:45 am

My wife just emailed me saying there was an aborted takeoff at Logan, bound for ATL, due to a passenger hearing beeps from the overhead bins. Anyone else got details?

It was an air leak in the overhead luggage compartment...

I don't read anything that says the takeoff was aborted. The original post doesn't make sense anyway.

...there was an aborted takeoff at Logan, bound for ATL, due to a passenger hearing beeps from the overhead bins.

If the takeoff had been aborted, how would the passengers have been able to communicate this noise they heard to the pilots in time?

I understand what you're saying and I suppose there could have been better phraseology. If you take "takeoff" in the broadest sense of the term, meaning pushback to rotation, then "aborted" fits, however.

I was at work at the time and didn't even know about it until afterwards...

Apparently, the plane stopped right in the middle of 15R/33L, authorities and everything all around. The plane was gone w/in the hour.
