I think it looks bad. The purple color looks pretty bad. The seats don't look comfortable (I know they probably are, but they appear not to). The screens are tooooooo small, and there should be PTVs!!!

Continental-

How can you tell that the seats don't look comfortable? The picture only shows the back of them. You can't even see the front of the seats where the passengers would sit!

I think it looks great! The cabin looks rich and luxurious and I love the "777" interior. Good job HA.

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't HA have PTVs in f/c? I think the photogtapher meant that they weren't shown. Am I wrong? Thanks. By the way, the interior looks great! The seats look the AA biz class...

When I took HA first class from SAN in January on their 767 there were no PTV's.

You did? This is great!!  Big thumbs up And I really like that one with the first class by 777 style. This is awesome inside of the aircraft and also, you didn't not took a pictures inside of the coach class yet.  Sad Why nt?!? You should need to do it with the more inside of the cabin shot inside of B767-300ER. ok? Well, later!!!

The best thing about the latest 767's off the production line are the 777 style interiors, an excellent marketing strategy by boeing.

Nice to finally see (sort of) HA's 767 interior.

Is it just me, or are those seats extremely close together for first class? Also, I'm not sure I could handle all that purple on a long flight! As stated previously though, these seats do resemble AA's business class seats, somewhat. Do they (Hawaiian's) First Class seats have leg rests?

The photographs seem to enhance the colors. In reality the purple is a bit more muted, and (I think) very restful. I'm lucky to be able to fly these planes for a living. The photos also compress the view; the seats aren't that close together in F/C. And finally, no, we do not have PTV's in any of our planes.

What's the seat comfort like? Those coach seats look to me like they're nice and comfy. Better than most airlines.

What's the obsession with personal televisions?

What did people do to occupy themselves through long (and even longer) flights for the last fifty years without PTVs to numb their minds?

Aloha,

I just got back from a two-day trip home to Hawaii. I took Hawaiian from HNL-MKK, and noticed the same seats are used on the 717s as those in the pics posted above. They are your average coach seats ... slimline, no headrests, not too padded. The seat pitch was horrendous (especially after sitting in First on AA's Internationally configured 763 from ORD-HNL). The "purple-ness" was a bit overwhelming throughout the cabin. Mind you, this is only a 15 minute flight ... I can't imagine a long haul flight!

I was a bit surprised. The cabin crew wasn't all that friendly, but what really surprised me, was that Hawaiian apparently is now using an "automated flight attendant." 98% of all cabin announcements are pre-recorded/playback messages. At first I thought it was sort of neat, then quickly realized how blan they seemed ... no real "aloha spirit" in pre-recorded announcements. Also, after a few mix-ups in the announcements, it got a bit irritating. All-In-All, I didn't like it. The only time we heard the actual flight attendant was upon arrival in MKK, and even then she didn't sound all that enthused. I have to admit however, the majority of their (Hawaiian's) gate agents sounded really professional and pleasant when making their boarding announcements in HNL.

Scott,
You may have missed my reply on another thread about Hawaiian's 767's. We do not have any PTVs in any of our planes. The cost, weight, and maintenance far outweighs any benefit to us. Operating as we do in a very low yield market, PTVs are just too expensive for us to put into the planes.

The cabin looks very nice. And excellent pic as well!

Where does HA fly their 767's? And how many do they have?
Its better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air than be in the air wishing you were on the ground. Fly safe!

That purple just doesn't do it for me! It makes the cabin look too dark. If I were their designer, I would have chosen the conventional light blue, with a LIGHT shade of purple to reflect the exterior paint scheme.

Yes, many airlines have light blue. But it creates an atmosphere of calm in the cabin as well as reflects the light blue of the ocean surrounding an island. To jazz the cabin up, I would have palm trees decorating the cabin (like they have done quite nicely in f/c) as well as the famous head of that Hawaian woman somewhere in the cabin.

I'm sorry, but IMHO, this cabin doesn't do justice to an island airline.

SunAir,
Sorry you feel that way, but the pictures really don't do justice to the actual colors of our interior. It really is very restful.

Trickijedi,
We just had our 9th 767 delivered, and will have 16 flying by late spring 2003. Right now they fly HNL-SEA, HNL-SMF, HNL-SFO(sometimes), HNL-ONT, HNL-SAN, one daily HNL-LAX, OGG-SEA, OGG-SFO, and OGG-LAX. I believe we just started going to LAS with them also. I've heard that management wants to get rid of the DC-10's by April so they don't have to fit them with the bulletproof cockpit doors, so hopefully we'll be flying all our routes with the 767 by then.
