Well, I think that in case you fly Business, British Airways will be the wise decision as I find it to offer the best product Vs. the rest.
However, if you fly Y/cl, then American must be the smartest choice since it offers its "More Room Throughout Coach", and this may be very comfortable for you on that Transatlantic flight!

I would have to say American's 777 service. I personally have not flown this particular aircraft with AA but I have read many positive things about the service etc and the leg room is meant to be excellent. I have flown AA on the 767 on this route and found them to be very comfortable (before MRTC) and also UAL on their 777 and found that quite enjoyable (possibly because it was my first 777 ride). American and United's 777's have PTV's whilst United also provide them in the 767-300. Hope this helps  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I dunno if this is an opinion based or real based question.

You could fly Singapore from ORD - AMS and catch a bmi flight from AMS - LHR.

US$440 to AMS with SIA but no FFP miles

I am usually loyal to AA but in this case I have to mention that in my opinion UAL's ORD-LHR 777 service is far superior to AA's. It may have been just coincidental but I truly found the service, food and giveaways are better quality on UAL. I am interested to compare BA when I fly them ORD-LHR in december.

I'm going to agree with TWAlives here, I have flown AA and UA on this route and find that UA's service and seats are better than AA's. While on AA, I got stuck in a seat with a PTV box under it which took up 1/2 of my legroom. I have yet to fly BA over the Atlantic but would assume the service is great.

If you do choose UA, 2 out of 3 daily flights are flown with the 777, try to get on one of these vs. the 767 although you will be happy with both aircraft.

Well, if you're strictly looking at price and are flexible with your dates, I'd look at United's E-Fares to LHR. I've seen them as low as $300 in the past month.
Its better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air than be in the air wishing you were on the ground. Fly safe!

I second Gkirk's BD bid!

Their transatlantic C service is the best in the industry!

Or you could fly ORD-SFO then fly Singapore Airlines to SIN and then catch another SQ flight to LHR!

I flew AA ORD-LHR on a 763 about 15 months ago and found the service and legroom(Y Class) to be quite nice. The return trip was nice too.

If you can, take AA's last ORD-LHR flight, which is the one I took. It is a 763, and since it is the last flight out, there aren't as many pax as most have caught earlier flights. This was the case with mine, as it was rainy in Chicago, but I'd give AA 98(or 99, forget which one) a shot.
