Spotting at Newark - EWR

Sat Dec 19, 1998 5:04 am

I will be in Newark for a short period during the holidays. Can anyone
give me some good locations (and directions to get there) to spot
in and around the Newark Int'l airport. And also the best times to
spot -Thanks.
I've flown on 9V-SPK.

I went there over the summer. I really did not see much as I was rushing to catch my connection.

Newark Airport is my home base. The best places to spot is while rideing the tram in between the terminals. It actually takes you our over the concourse. Terminal A has United, US Airways, America West Airlines, TWA and KIWI. Terminal B is all international arrivals. Terminal C is all Continental. The best time to go is between 3:00 and 7:00. That is when most of the international flights come in.

CX747, Terminal A also has American Airlines. American has a daily flight to London Heathrow (leaves out of Terminal A), it's the only European destination they fly to out of Newark. I've been on that flight a few months ago, it was a 767-200.

That is true. I forgot to add them but did not want to make another post. BA, VA, Luft, and many other international carriers are there every day.

If you can get into the Continental terminal, walk toward
the end of the building. At the end, there are windows where
one can see planes taking off and landing. It's really a great
place to spot planes. While in the terminal, walk passed all the
restaraunts and gift shops, and you should be able to see the
window at the end of the terminal. I'll be there myself on Tues.
Another place to plane spot is the tram which a gentleman before
stated. Hope this helps.
