Craotia Stops Flying To Berlin, And Other News!

Sun Nov 03, 2002 9:58 pm

I have here with me the newest CROATIA AIRLINES Winter timetable (2002/03) and as far as I can see, there are no more direct scheduled flights between Zagreb and Berlin. Croatia Airlines used to fly the route three times per week (Tue, Thu, Sun) with ATR-42 aircraft. The flight used to depart Zagreb around 8 am and the scheduled Berlin departure was around noon.
Well, apparently, Croatia Airlines have discontinued direct flights to the city, and have opted for a code share with Lufthansa. Therefore, as of October 27th, there will be a daily flight from Zagreb to Berlin, with plane change in Munich. But OU code (Croatia Airlines one) will appear on LH afternoon flight MUC-BER (and v.v.).

Unfortunatelly, flights on the route ZAGREB-DÜSSELDORF have been reduced. The route has used to be flown three times per week, so that during the winter period one of those three flights was routed via Split and during summer two out of three flights were via Split (Split also had additional charters to DUS). However, as of Winter 2002/03 only ONE flight per week will be flown alltogether on ZAG-DUS section. Every Saturday, A-320 leaving Zagreb around noon with a stopover in Split! And there are no additional codeshares with Lufthansa for Düsseldorf...

Anybody has more info on why Croatia is reducing DUS?!?!??!?!

Brussels has three flights per week, and London once again seven. As of Feb 3rd, a Monday 319 ZAG-LHR flight will make a stopover in Dubrovnik!

Interestingly enough there are no more flights between Dubrovnik and Rome (most likely because of the new Dubrovnik-Frankfurt venture with Lufthansa). However, Split has now 6 times per week connection with Rome! An increase from 5 flights per week. Hopefully in summer Split will get daily link with Rome!

So much about Croatia Airlines timetable that I found interesting!
Other comments about the airline are welcomed!!

Any thoughts on the current livery?!?!?

And finally, one question, anybody has info on when will Croatia introduce a new destination from Zagreb? Personally, I would love to see an addition of a new city (or couple of them) being served by Croatia Airlines...but which ones? Geneva, Milan,...?! I would prefer though Copenhagen above all!

Where can one find an annual report of CROATIA AIRLINES?! Or any data on routes, passengers carried, etc?!
