Houston - Kennedy Space Center?

Mon Nov 11, 2002 3:17 pm

While surfing NASA's web site I realize that there must be quite a need for "shuttle" service (pardon the pun) between Houston (EFD?) and Kennedy Space Center (X68). What do the astronauts/technicians/bureaucrats fly on to commute back and forth? Do they use regular airline service at IAH/HOU or are there charter flights?

Seems HOU-MCO is kind of a roundabout way to get there.

NASA owns a small fleet of G-I's and G-II's that are based on the south side of EFD and moves people about. A company that has a large NASA contract, USA Space Alliance, for support, has at least one Saberliner. When an individual astronaut needs to go, usually they check out a T-38 from the pool and zip on over.
