Yeah in fact the A330 is the first time US has ever had a longhaul first class, and, honestly, the seats are awesome.
I flew on an A330 from PHL-CDG in Envoy (which is a GREAT business cabin I might add) and got to sit in one of the F class seats about 10 minutes pre-flight. Pretty nice...
The only time I've flown in 3-class F on UA was an old 762 from IAD-SFO. It was fine, layed flat and all, but the controls were difficult and it wasn't that great. The flight was also at 0900 and it was snowing, so I left the house way too early... subsequently, I slept the whole way anyway so it couldn't have been too bad.
