Future Of IB's MD-80 Fleet

Wed Nov 27, 2002 5:53 pm

"FlightInternational" has an interesting article about Iberia's MD-80 fleet.
It seems that IB is interested at "Stage 4" modifications for its MD-87/88. They are looking what Boieng and partners are doing. So that could mean that IB will not replace their MD's in the near future...What do you think?

There was a great article on IB in Airways a few months ago... they indicated that they'd rather replace the 757s first (with Airbuses) then the MD-80s with Airbuses.

Put it that way: IB was the last European operator of B727, why not the last operator of MD80's?  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

From my Spanish contacts I heared nothing, that IB plans to replace them in the near future. Although, I'd love to see them with 'Busses at ZRH.

I wonder why they want to get rid of the 757 before the MD's?
